Privacy policy
Key I.T. Pty Ltd (ABN 74 660 435 218), trading as Key IT ("Key IT", "we", "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
What information we collect
We may collect personal information including your name, business name, email address, phone number, and any details you provide when you contact us, use the chat assistant on our website, request a review, or use our services. When we provide IT services, we may also access information within your systems strictly to deliver those services.
How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and provide the services you request.
- To deliver, manage and support our IT and cybersecurity services.
- To communicate with you about your services and, where permitted, relevant updates.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Disclosure of your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with the third-party service providers who help us deliver our services — including our email and form-delivery provider (SMTP2GO), bot-protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), website analytics (Google Analytics 4, with IP anonymisation), advertising measurement (Google Ads conversion measurement, described below), the AI service that powers our website chat assistant (Anthropic), and our website hosting and supplementary privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel) — each bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations, and where required by law. Some of these providers may store or process data overseas (including the United States).
Our website chat assistant
The chat assistant on our website is an AI system, not a person. It answers questions about Key IT using the content of this website, and it can log an enquiry for our team. Here is what happens to the information you give it:
- The messages you type, together with the earlier messages in the same conversation, are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the assistant's replies.
- When you send your first message, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the chat is being used by a person rather than a bot. Your IP address is used for that check and to limit repeated requests.
- When you ask us to follow up, the assistant collects your name, your email address and a summary of what you need. Those details are emailed to our team through SMTP2GO, and a confirmation is emailed to the address you give.

Google Ads conversion measurement
Our website loads the Google Ads tag on every page. It uses first-party cookies whose names start with _gcl_ (kept for up to ninety days) so Google can tell us when a visit that began with a click on one of our Google ads leads to an enquiry. When you arrive from one of our ads, we also keep the ad-click identifier, the time of the click and the page you landed on for up to ninety days, so an enquiry you send us can be linked to the ad that brought you here. Ad personalisation is turned off for this data.
Data security
As a security-first provider, we take the protection of personal information seriously, applying technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You may also raise a privacy concern with us. Contact us at hello@keyit.com.au or 1300 053 948. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
